Mackie Hill Junior and Infant School

The Government has confirmed that the May Polls will go ahead this year for council, Mayoral and police and crime commissioner elections on 6^th May after being delayed last year. This unfortunately means that Mackie Hill School will be used as a Polling Station and school will be closed to pupils on 6^th May. We will ensure that adequate cleaning measure will take place on 6^th and 7^th May before school reopens to pupils following the Covid-Secure Heath and Safety Executive guidance.

In school, we are extremely conscious that many children have been absent from school during the national lockdowns and whilst they have worked very hard on learning at home, we would like to maximise the amount of in school education children can have. Therefore, myself and the chair of governors, have decided to move an Inset Day to the 6^th May from 27^th May to avoid any additional school closure days.  

The remaining 3 Inset days this year will be:

Thursday 6^th May –Polling Day

Friday 28^th May

Monday 26^th July
