Year 5 & Year 6 Notification.29 November 2021 (by admin) |
Unfortunately, the number of children and staff in Year 5 & Year 6 testing positive for Covid-19 has continued to rise over the weekend and today. I have spoken to both the Local Authority and Wakefield Public Health teams and I have now been advised to move the education of these children to remote learning at home. This is because we do not have sufficient staff in Year 5 and Year 6 to continue to educate the children safely in school.
From tomorrow, 30th November, children in Year 5 and Year 6 will need to remain at home and access learning via Zoom. Class teachers will be organising planning and resources this evening and uploading zoom codes and resources onto the school website.
The children in these 2 classes do not need to isolate unless they have covid-19 symptoms, have had a positive LFT or a positive PCR test.
I have a meeting with the public health team again today at 3:30pm. Following this meeting, I shall confirm the date when children can return to school.
Thank you in advance for your co-operation.
Mrs Elliott.
