Mackie Hill Junior and Infant School

Good afternoon,

The team have been busy in school over the past two days ensuring that our learning environments are inviting for the exciting term ahead. We have also completed some important safeguarding training and spent time reflecting on how we prioritise making school the safest place possible for everyone in it.

IMPORTANT- slight change to the school day

We have made a slight adjustment to our morning timings. From Monday 9th September, doors will open at 8.40am and register will be taken at 8.45am prompt. Children arriving after this time will be marked as late. Whilst our families adjust to the new timing expectations, we will keep classroom doors open until 8.50am however this will move closer to 8.45am as the weeks progress. The gates will be open from 8.15am so that children can access breakfast if they wish and still be in class for 8.40am ready for 8.45am registration. If you arrive after this time, and the classroom doors are closed, your child should enter school through reception and be signed in by an adult. This is to meet the government expectation that school provides 32.5 hours per week. Please note this will commence NEXT WEEK so for the next 3 days, your child should arrive at the usual time.

P.E

There will be no P.E this week so please send children into school in full uniform, including appropriate footwear. A notice will be sent later this week with the P.E timetable and a reminder of P.E uniform expectations.
