Important Information- Mrs Clune

16 May 2025 (by admin)

Dear Parents and Carers,

You may have noticed that Mrs Clune has been away from school for the first part of this half term and I want to inform you that she will be taking some further time away from the classroom.

Mrs Clune and her husband were expecting their first baby in August. Very sadly, following their 20-week scan, they
received the devastating news that there were significant health complications with the pregnancy. As a result, Mr and Mrs Clune had their baby, Evelyn Hallie Clune, who was born sleeping in late April.

This is an unimaginable and heartbreaking time for them both, and I know you will join me in sending them our deepest sympathy and support as they take time to grieve and begin to heal.

With the couple both being dedicated teachers, they have expressed their desires to be back at work as soon as they feel able, but understandably they must take as much time as required.

During Mrs Clune’s absence, we will continue to support the class and maintain our high expectations for learning and wellbeing.

We are aware that some children, particularly in year 3, were aware of Mrs Clune’s pregnancy so we have included a helpful link below for you to share this news with your children.

Following them processing this news, we have made our learning mentor available at the start of next week to support those children who may need it.

As a staff team, we want to express how proud we are of our friend and colleague and extend our love and thoughts to those within our school community who may have similar experience dealing with this traumatic loss.

In solidarity with Mrs Clune, and to honour Evelyn’s life, we aim to raise funds for the charity SANDS. There is a Just Giving link below if you feel you would like to support us with this worthwhile cause.

Thank you for your understanding and compassion.

Mrs Haren
